Rotary split their ranges up in to several different model names including vintage, Windsor and Kensington to name but a few. On first glance there isn’t a great deal of difference between these ranges but on closer inspection you can see the little tweaks and details that Rotary have put in to each of these ranges to make each and every watch unique and individual. For example in the “vintage” range of Rotary Gents Gold plated watches they have used very classic hands on the face as well as very classic shaped cases.

Innovation is key with Rotary and this can be seen with all of the new Gold Plated watches, recently Rotary have introduced a process of applying gold on to their watches this is known as Physical Vapour Deposition or PVD. The PVD process involves placing the watch in a high pressure chamber and then the gold evaporates and actually penetrates the Stainless Steel so instead of just plating the top of the Stainless Steel like with traditional Gold plating the new PVD method actually goes deep in to the metal. The benefits of this new method are a much longer durability of colour and superior robustness. This can be seen in a lot of Rotary watches as their Gold plated models make up around 39% of the entire range.

Innovation in the Rotary Gents Gold plated watches is not limited to just the aesthetic appeal of the product, Rotary have also developed a new waterproof standard which is an innovation especially when you consider its on the majority of their timepieces even including their dress watches and stone set watches, the new standard is known as Rotary’s Dolphin Standard and basically allows the wearer to swim and dive (not scuba) in his watch all day. This is great when your on the beach for example and your wearing your watch but have nowhere to leave it, with the new Rotary Dolphin standard that is no longer a problem.

The Rotary Gents Gold Plated Watches remain to be a strong seller in the Rotary range and I think this is due to the wide range of styles available ranging from the classic looking Vintage range to the contemporary design led Rotary Editions watches. More Rotary Watches have been added to the collection!! The latest addition is called the Rotary Aquaspeed, there are 2 models in this new range one with a Stainless Steel bracelet and blue face and one with a black leather strap and black face, both these watches also feature glow in the dark hands and date feature. They are aimed at the sports mad customer who demands a sporting looking timepiece with the sort of functions you expect from a sports watch of this calibre. They are both Chronograph watches which is basically an analogue stopwatch function and they both carry the Rotary Dolphin Standard which gives the wearer the peace of mind to be able to swim and dive in the water all day. Rotary Watches - limited editions and other info

In my final installment of information on Rotary Watches, I am going to talk about their Limited Edition watches, not to be confused with the editions range.

Each and every year Rotary bring out a limited edition timepiece of which they only produce 500 worldwide.

Each watch comes with a self winding, handcrafted oak wood presentation box. These watches are generally released in the summer/autumn and are purely on a first come first served basis, and they never hang around for long.

The main reason for this is that they really are a collectors piece, and each watch released is very different from the others, all come with swiss automatic movements and see through backs so you can actually see the movement from outside the case.

They all come on leather straps and some have date windows but not all. The retail price for all the limited edition Rotary Watches is £500.00, which may sound a lot but you are buying a watch that will never be available again.

You can also buy the self windings oak boxes on there own which retail at £150.00.
